A Child's Christmas Prayer

£2.50

Our Poem

It was Christmas Eve and time to gather at Badgers Creek,
Woolly lambs huddled, fawns inquisitive, gentle and meek,
Owl left his tree, the badgers their wood,
Small creatures travelled as fast as they could,
The creek was touched by falling snow, silent in the night,
Covering field and meadow in a soft mantle of white,
There they came as church bells rang,
Standing still to listen as voices sang.
Snowflakes glistened on each pony's mane,
They imagined the stall where baby Jesus had lain
And there by a shelter, warm with sweet hay,
Christmas Eve became Christmas Day
