Snow Ponies

Our Poem

When snowfakes fall at Christmas time each child is filled with aw
Nose pressed to the window pane or in slippers by the door
They hear the church bells peel across this wonderland
Where ponies watch and wait for the reassuring hand
To lead them to their stable before the wind blows cold
As the shepherd tends his flock gathered in the fold.
But the Snow Leopard and Snow Bunting dwell in its icy charm
The Stoat wears its ermine mantle to keep it safe from harm
And there as ice crystals crackle in the lane
Sparkling on a laden bough, glistening in a mane
The scene is set, but dreams will touch warm lands faraway
And peace like the snow mantle will come for Christmas day.
