Our Poem
"We're about to begin, time to go in" our little friend had to shout
As I took my seat I remembered, of stories I'd been told,
And I shut my eyes for a moment, knowing magic was about to unfold
Again the drums, then silence, as the Ringmaster took his stand
In the centre of the sawdust ring, long whip in his hand.
Quite suddenly at the canter, cream ponies joined him there,
Arched necks and proudly plumed, you could see their nostrils flare
At the crack of the whip they reared and in pirouettes they spun
With pointed toes and graceful airs they danced as if just one.
